Ministerial Decree # 680 / Exemption Of Articles In Resolution # 888 For The Year 2016

In accordance with Ministerial decree No. (680) regardingthe exclusion of some articles of Resolution No. 888 for the year 2016 inrespect of the rules that regulating description and dispensing Narcotic, Controlledand Semi-controlled drugs. Accordingly, we would like to mention the following:

1-Exemption of article 3 Items (B & C) of the decree no. 888 for the year2016 regarding describing and dispensing controlled drugs (attached annex ofthe exemption list) 

2. List exempted by Resolution are as follows:

1-    ACITRETIN

2-    ARIPIPRAZOLE

3-    CLONAZEPAM

4-    CLOZAPINE

5-    FLUPENTHIXOL

6-    GABAPENTIN

7-    HALOPERIDOL

8-    METHYLPHENIDATE

9-    OLANZAPINE

10-  PREGABALIN

11-  PAROXETINE

12-  PROCHLORPERAZINE

13-  QUETIAPINE

14-  RISPERIDONE

15-  SULPIRIDE

16-  TIAPRIDE

17-  TRIFLUOPERAZINE

-18   ZIPRASIDONE

3- Rules and provisions applied in respect of the refill of prescribing and dispensing the above listed drugs (as cited in the decree) will be responsibility ofconsultants and specialists (by specialty) ; each according to their competence as following: 

A) The specialist (by specialty) is allowed to prescribe these controlled drugs for a period not exceeding 30 days, with one (1)refill of another thirty (30) days.

B) The consultant (byspecialty) is allowed to prescribe these controlled drugs for a period not exceeding 30 days with two (2) refills of another thirty (30) days each.

4- Pharmacies will be allowed to refill the dispensing of the drugs (mentioned in the annexof the decree) in accordance with the regulations and rules stipulated inministerial resolution no. 888 for the year 2016 (attached)
